I) The past simple tense ( thì QKĐ) ( Unit 1)
* The use : diễn tả một hảnh động đã xảy ra và chấm dứt trong qúa khứ.
* Các cụm từ chỉ thời gian thường được dùng trong thì này là : yesterday, last Sunday/ week /month / year..., three days/ five minutes ago ....
* Formation : S + V2 /Ved + ....
Ex : He watched this film last night. =>Did he watch this film last night ?
The children were at school yesterday. =>Were the children at school yesterday?
*Exercises 1a :Use the past simple tense of the verbs in brackets

II) “Wish Sentences” at present or in the future (Câu ao ước ở hiện tại / tương lai ) - tả ước muốn một tình huống không có thực ở hiện tại
- Diễn tả sự hối tiếc về một tình huống ở HT mà bạn muốn thay đổi
-Would được dùng sau wish diễn tả hành động tương lai mà bạn muốn nó xảy ra
S1 +wish (es ) + S2 + Past tense ( thì QK) + O
Be --> were
Vt --> V2 /Ved
Vk --> Would/ could/ might + Inf ...
Ex :I wish I were a famous singer like My Tam. ; Lan wishes they didn’t come late.
Mary wishes he wrote to her more often. ; They wish the weather would be nice.
*Exercises 2 : write sentences with “wish”
a. you are poor -> I wish I weren’t poor / I wish I were rich.
b. you don’t have a car -> I wish I had a car
c. Hoa can’t speak English .=>Hoa wishes she could speak English.
d. you can’t do this exercise -> I wish I could do this exercise .
e. I don’t know Hoa’s telephone number ->I wish I knew Hoa’s telephone number .
f. I have to work tomorrow -> I wish I didn’t have to work tomorrow .
g. Today isn’t a holiday -> I wish Today were a holiday
h. Mai isn’t here -> I wish Mai were here .
i. Mr Tung doesn’t have a car ->Mr Tung wishes he had a car .
k. I have a cold -> I wish I didn’t have a cold .

* Cấu trúc này dùng để diễn tả thói quen, hành động thường xảy ra trong qúa khứ.
Ex : We used to go fishing late in the afternoon.
*S + be + Used to + V-ing: Cấu trúc này dùng để diễn tả thói quen , việc thường xảy ra ở hiện tại
Ex : I am used to reading in the library .
*Exercises 3 : Fill in the blank with inf without to or V-ing
