Bad weather comes in many different forms. One kind of bad weather is the tornado. It is one of the most destructive storms that we have on the earth. A tornado is a long cloud which comes down from the sky. It is shaped like a funnel and consists of wind which whirls around and around extremely fast. In fact, the wind can reach a speed of more than nine hundred kilometers per hour. Weather scientists are unable to know exactly when a tornado will occur. Fortunately, the tornado is not usually very big and it does not last long.
There are about two hundred tornadoes annually in the United States, but in some years there are many more.
