II – Read the following paragraph and answer the questions. (2.5 ms)

The first time I went to the beach was ten years ago – when it was not fully exploited. It seemed a long way from the town to the beach. We crossed the poor yet beautiful countryside of the two districts – the rice fields and the water palm trees looked shy in the sunlight of March. The jeep jostled up and down the potholes and I kept hiding my face from the young pedestrians who all said only the same word “Hello!” then my friend woke me up. On the left side of the road were the sand dunes – clean and shining! The nearer we came to the beach, the smaller the road became. The green water melon fields stretched out to the big sand dune. We climbed up the biggest sand dune down to the beach scattered with rambutan shaped weed. The sea appeared wild and deserted – only a few coracles. A small sand reef separated the beach from the real sea. We took off our shoes and waddled to the reef. We stayed there breathing fresh air from the open sea and watching the waves. I enjoyed listening to the rhythm of the sea – sometimes roaring, sometimes lulling. My friend, who seemed lonelier than ever, went catching colourful crabs by the beach, but the only she got was a mauve flower from a plant on the beach.
