- Ss get on with the forms and uses of the past simple tense to talk about past events.
- Ss ask for and retell about a vacation or a picnic ...
B- Preparations:
- Books, cassette player and tape, ...
- Ss collect pictures about some famous places.
C- Procedures:
I- Checking up:
- T checks Ss` preparations for the new lesson.
II- New lesson:


- T lets Ss to discuss about their the last term.
- Ss discuss




- T hangs the collected pictures of Nha Trang and them makes suggested Qs
- Ss look at the pictures and answer the T`s questions.
- T introduces the dialogue between Ba and Liz. (Ss listen to the T and prepare to hear the dialogue).
- T plays the tape (twice)

- T explains some verbs of the dialogue and then presents the new grammar:
- Ss listen to the T and copy

I- Formation:
1) To be:
(+) S + was/were + O
Ex: It was wonderful.
(-) S + was not (wasn`t)/were not (weren`t)
+ O.
Ex: Things weren`t cheap.

























- Ss make examples, use the new grammar.

- Ss practice pronouncing:


- T plays the tape again.
- Ss listen to the tape and do "Now answer, Number the sentences".
- T asks Ss to give their answers

- T explains new words:
- Ss practice talking, using the past simple tense (in group)

II- Uses:
(The past simple tense expresses an action that completely finished in the past. This tense always goes with: yesterday, last night/week/month/year, ogo ...)

+ / id /: a verb ends with /t/ or /d/. (started; needed ...)
