 I. Title
Survey of Categories of Ornamental Fish in the Area of Cantho City
II. The Importance of the Study
  - Located in Southeast Asia, Vietnam is one of the three world-famous
     ornamental fish breeding centers. The year-round warm climate and rich
     varieties of ornamental fish bring a great ornamental fish breeding
     potential to the country. The entrance of beautiful and rare fish species of
     exotic origins has also made ornamental fish breeding a distinctive
     occupation in the past decades.
  - The quantity, varieties, market and prices of ornamental fish are
     subjected to change every year. Therefore, for a large-scaled and
     cost-efficient plan of ornamental fish breeding, the examination of
     ornamental fish varieties available in Cantho city plays a crucial role. The
     current study will hopefully help the establishments, cultivators and farms
     of ornamental fish breeding find out popular, species with high economic
     values and abundant varieties.
   III. Orientation of research targets
  Short-term: to collect information of ornamental fish species available
     in Cantho city and to pinpoint those with high economic values.
  Long-term: to analyze the potential, opportunities and challenges
     regarding the development of Cantho-based ornamental fish market.

   IV. Research content
  - Exploring the categories of profitable ornamental fish species and
     their variations in Cantho city
  - Exploring certain species of ornamental fish of high economic values
     found in Cantho city
 V.  Expected results
  - Ornamental fish species of high economic values will be picked out.
  - The most abundant ornamental fish species will also be found out.
   VI. Possibilities and locations of research application
  - To assist local establishments, breeding centers and households of
     ornamental fish trade to acquire valuable fish species, which will boost the
     economic effectiveness of their production activities.
