I live in Arica, Chile. It’s one of the driest places on earth, at least in terms of rainfall. On average, it rains only about once every six years. However, that doesn’t mean it’s extremely hot and colourless. In fact, the
climate is quite mild, with temperatures from 20°C to 25°C most of the year. Although Arica is in the desert, there is enough moisture in the air to keep the desert plants green and beautiful. No one could say that Arica is lush, but we do have a lot of beautiful green parks. Much of the moisture comes from the coastal fog that rolls in most mornings but burns off shortly afterwards. One of the best parts of Arica is that you never have to worry about your plans being ruined by rain. Another one is that there are beautiful beaches that you can enjoy any day of the year.
