* THE PASSIVE VOICE: Thể bị động
+ Simple present tense: S + V + O.
eg; I eat a lot of food every day.
( A lot of food is eaten by me every day. S + am/is/are + V3ed + (by O).
+ Simple past tense:
eg; He repaired my bicycle yesterday. S + V2ed + O.
( My bicycle was repaired by him yesterday.
S + was/were + V3ed + (by O) + Present continuous tense:
eg; She is painting a picture now. S + am/is/are + V-ing + O.
( A picture is being painted by her now.
S + am/is/are + being + V3ed + (by O).
+ Past continuous tense:
eg; They were doing homework. S + was/were + V-ing + O.
( Homework was being done by them.
S + was/were + being + V3ed + (by O).
+ Present perfect tense:
eg; Nam hasn’t finished his exercises. S + has/have + V3ed + O.
( Nam’s exercises haven’t been finished.
S + has/have + been + V3ed + (by O).
+ Past perfect tense:
eg; I had eaten a fly. S + had + V3ed + O.
( A fly had been eaten by me.
S + had + been + V3ed + (by O).
+ Simple future tense + Modal verbs:
eg; Lan will hold a meeting. S + modal + V0 + O.
( A meeting will be held by Lan.
We can plant trees in the yard. S + modal + be + V3ed + (by O).
( Trees can be planted in the yard by us.
* PRACTICE:
