2.Teaching aims : Students can talk about famous places in Hanoi as well as Razali Maryam’s visit here

V>Procedures :
I.Getting started :
Show the six pictures and introduce to the students that these are famous places in Hanoi and Phu Tho. Have them work in group to match names of the places with the right picture
1.Dong Xuan market
2.Foodstall
3.Hung temple
4.The temple of Literature
5.The History Museum
6.The Congress Hall
II.Listen and read
1.Brainstorming :
-Introduce some information about Razali Maryam, Lan’s Malaysia penpal and her visit in Hanoi
Have students guess which of the above six places Maryam will visit
-Have Ss write out their guess
-Have Ss read the text and check their guess as well as give more places Maryam visits
2.Presentation :
Ss read the text again and choose the correct option to comlate the sentences
-Get feedback –have Ss show the sentences that help them choose the option
*New structures and new words
Introduce new words :
.correspond (v) mosque (n) be impressed (adj)
.pray (v) keep in touch
Introduce the simple past tense with “wish”
*Usage : expresses unreal wish in the present
ex : I wish you had a longer vacation
She wish she could swim
3.Practice :
-Make sentences using the simple past tense with “wish”

b.He/ wish/ his mother/ give/ him/ some money
c.We/ wish/ you/ buy/ us/ some books
4.Production :
-Ss retell about Razali Maryam and her visit in Hanoi
