Andrew Benton opened his first “ El Rio” restaurant in 2003, selling Mexican food in a right, modern environment. It was an immediate success and he now has a chain of restaurant across the country. All this is not bad for someone who left school at the age of five with no idea of what he wanted to do with his life.
He had several jobs through his 20s and 30s, but none with food or cooking. In fact, he started out as a “ roadie” for a rock band.
