Unit 1: A VISIT FROM A PENPAL
Period 2 : GETTING STARTED & LISTEN AND READ
I. Aims and objectives :
1/ Language content
+ To provide some words and phrases relating to the topic : “ A Visit From A Penpal”.
+ To help the Students review the simple tense, the past simple with “Wish” sentence in the present
+ To encourage students to perceive conceptual relationship between words and guess the meaning of unknown vocabulary by exploiting linguisetic and contextual clues .
2/ Language function:
- By the end of the lesson, students will be able to know about some places Lan went to a foreign friend and some activities they took part in together.
3/ Educational aims:
+ To make the students get on well with their friends.
+ To make them love places of interest in VN
1.Language:
a.Vocabulary: correspond, impress, mosque, depend, keep in touch, mausoleum,temple
b.Structures : Past simple, unreal wish in the present.
2.Skills: Integrated skills.
3.Education factor: The Studentss will get on well with their friends, then they will have a good friendship.They will love places of interest in Vietnam .
II. Teacher’s and students’ preparation :
1.Method: Communicative Approach
2.Teachniques: Pair - work,Explanation,Repetition,group- work,Gap-filling , multiple choice,…………
3.Materials needed: Textbook,pictures,worksheet,posters , cassett player,……………
4.Students’preparation: Activities doing in a visit, pre-read the passage, new words in the passage

III. Procedure in class:
1.Stabilization: (3 ms)
a. Checking absence : How many students absent today , the monitor?
b. Warm-up (Getting started):
- Asks the students to tell some more places of interest in Vietnam.
- Sets the scene: Where would you take a foreign friend to if he/ she wanted to visit your country?
2.Checking up the previous knowledge:
a. Choose the corrcet form of the verbs in the brackets below to complete the sentences :
