Traditional Wedding
Introduction
Wedding is very important in Vietnamese.Depending on habits of specific ethnic groups,Wedding includes different steps.However,generally there are two main parts:


Part1:betrothal ceremony



Part2:Wedding ceremony
Betrothal ceremony:
The groom and his family visit the bride’s family to ask the permission from them.
They bring many things such as betel leaves,tea,cake….and carried by unmarried girls or boys
Wedding ceremony
Guests would be invited to come to join a party and cerebrate the couple’s happiness.The couple pray before the altar asking their ancestors for permission for their marriage,then to express their gratitude to both groom’s and bride’s parents for raising and protecting them
Ladies and women are all dressed in Ao Dai. Men could be in their suits or men traditional Ao Dai.the troop are usually led by a couple that is the most weathy and successful among the relatives

The bride is in Vietnamese traditional wedding Ao Dai which is usually in red.

The wedding ceremony starts in front of the altar.The couple would kneel down and pray to ask their ancestors’permission to be married.
The groom’s family take the bride to their house.
Today,a lot of Vietnamse couples have their wedding ceremony in temples or churches which is similar to American and Western style.
