Say hello to the students
How are you?
Today we’re going to review the main grammar points and vocabulary of English 8, then we are going to have a 10-minute-test.
* Review:
- Ask ss to retell some forms and uses of tenses that they have learnt in English 8 program.

Group 1 makes examples, use the past simple tense.
Group 2 makes examples, use the past progressive tense.
Group 3 makes examples, use the Present perfect tense.

- Divide the class into 3 groups and ask ss discuss to make examples
- Remark and correct
- Ask the class to retell forms of passive voice

- Divide the class into 2 groups, and ask ss discuss to change 2 sentences into the passive
- Remark and correct
- Ask the class to retell the way to report a sentence

I.Tenses
1 Past simple tense.

2 Past progressive tense

II. Passive voice
S + be + done...
1.The present simple: am/ is/ are + PP
Eg: She opens the door
The door is opened (by her)
2.The present continuous: am/ is/ are + being + PP
Eg: She is practicing her English . Her English is being practiced.
3.The past simple: were/ was + PP
Eg: She wrote some letters to me. Some letters were written to me.
4.The past continuous:
were/ was + being + PP
5.Eg:They were playing chess when Icame. When I came chess was being played.
6.The present perfect:
have/ has been + PP
Eg:We have just finished ourhomework. Our homework has just been finished.
5The future simple: will be + PP

IV. Direct and reported speech:
Động từ câu trần thuật ở hiện tại thì câu gián tiếp động từ không đổi.
Động từ câu trần thuật ở quá khứ
thì câu gián tiếp động từ lùi lại 1 bậc về qúa khứ
Reported questions:
a. Yes – No questions: S + asked me + If (whether) + S + V( lùi một thì)
“ Do you like apples?”, he asked. → He asked me if I liked apples.
b. Wh – questions: S + asked me + Wh- word + S + V (lùi 1 thì)
“ What’s your name?”, she asked. → She asked me what my name was.
IV. Thói quen quá khứ: USED TO + Vinf (thường hay)( chỉ thói quen trong quá khứ bây giờ không còn thói quen đó.
When I was a child I used to play with a doll.
I didn’t use to play soccer last year.
