I.OBJECTIVES:
_Language content:
+To introduce the students a text about Aodai-the traditional dress of Vietnamese women.
_Language function:
+To help the students review the present perfect tense.
+To enable the students to express their idea about clothing.
_Educational aim:
+To help the students know more about Aodai and be proud of it.
1. Language:
a. Vocabulary: Tunic, Unique, Design, Cross, Fashion, Poet, Poetry
b. Structures: + The present perfect tense
2. Skills: Integrated skills
3. Educational factor:
+To help the students choose their suitable clothing .
II.TEACHER AND STUDENTS’ PREPARATION:
1. Method: Communicative approach
2. Techniques: Using pictures, Matching, Prediction,Gap-fill, Question and answers.
3. Teaching aids: Pictures, Cassette player,miniboard.
4. Students’ preparation: new lesson “Getting Started +Listen And Read”
5. Previous exercises: Unit 1-“Language Focus”

1. Stabilization:
a. Warm-up: Greetings.
b. Checking absence: Who’s absent today?
2. Checking the previous knowledge:
+ Questions:
a.You don’t have new uniform for the new school year.What do you wish?
b. Your sister doesn’t have a new Aodai for Tet.What does she wish?
+ Keys to the questions:
a.I wish I had new uniform for new school year.
b. She wishes she had a new Aodai for Tet.

Lesson 1: GETTING STARTED+LISTEN AND READ
I. Lead -in:
1.Sets the situation:
_Shows the pictures”Getting started” on the board.
_Asks the students:
+Where is he/she from?
_Says:”Today we are going to learn a text about Aodai-the traditional dress of Vietnamese women.”
“First of all, you will study some new words.”
II. Pre-Practice:
1.Teaches new words:
_Teaches word by word following the principle and steps of teaching the new words.
*New words:
+ Tunic(n) [Translation]
+ Unique(a) [Translation]
+ Design(v) [Drawing,Explanation]
+ Cross(n) [Drawing]
+ Fashion(n) [Explanation]
+ Poet(n) [Explanation,Example]
Ex: Nguyen Du,To Huu,Huy can are poets.
+ Poetry(a) [Explanation,Example]
+ Slit(v) [Explanation:To make a long thin cut in something]
+Inspiration(n) [Translation]
+Ethnic minorities (nph) [Example]
Ex:Thai,Muong,Ede,H’Mong are ethnic minorities.
2.Checks the understanding of the new words,using “Rub out and Remember”
3. Pridition:
_Shows the exercise a) on the borad and asks the students to guess and fill in the gaps.
III.Controlled-Practice:
* Exercise a)
_Asks the students to work in pairs,scan the text and check their guessing.
_Calls some students to read their answers.
_Corrects their mistakes.
* Exercise b)
_Asks the students to read the text again in silence and then practise asking and answering with their partner.
_Calls some students to read their answers before the class.
_Gives feedback.
IV. Free-Practice:
* Questionaire:
_Asks the students to work in pairs and practise asking and answering the following questions:
Do you like the Aodai?
What do you think about the Aodai?
If you are a fashion designer,what will you do to change the Aodai?
_Calls some pairs to practise before the class.
