I. OBJECTIVES:
By the end of the lesson, students can:
- Make arrangements.
- Make invitation, accept and refuse the invitation.
- Develop listening and speaking skill.
II. PREPARATIONS: Textbook, tape, cassette player, pictures, computer.
III. PROCEDURES:

1/ Warm-up : (5’)
- Ask questions:
+ Do you usually use invitation?
+ On what occasions?
+How do you say to accept or refuse the invitation?

- Answer the questions.

2/ Presentation: (13’)
- Introduce the dialogue and read it.
- Ask ss to pick out the invitations & their responses:
I. Structures:
+ Would you like to come to my house for lunch? – Yes, I’d love to.
+ I’m not sure. I’ll call you tomorrow.
+ I’d love to, but I can’t come.
+ Thanks for inviting me. - It’s my pleasure.
+ Thanks anyway. – You’re welcome.
- Explain new word:
+ Wedding (n)
- Ask ss give examples for each structure invitations.

- Listen and take note.
- Give answers.

3/ Practice: (18’)
- Play the tape part B3/ page 66 (3 times)
- Ask ss to practice the dialogue in pairs.
- Call some ss practice before class.
- Ask ss to practice the following invitations.
+ come to my house for lunch.
+ go to see a movie.
+ go to a wedding on Sunday.
+ visit the museum.
+ go for a walk in the park.
+ play soccer this afternoon.
- Call on some pairs to give feedback.

- Have ss make some invitations and practice with their partners.

By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: consolidate the knowledge they have learnt from Unit 4 to unit 6: make suggestions; tenses; time; adverbs of frequency.
II. PREPARATIONS: Textbook, computer.
III. PROCEDURES:

- Have ss make invitations and responses with the following given cues.
a. go to the movies (agree)
b. go to the library (disagree)
c. come to my house for dinner (agree)
d. play soccer in the afternoon (disagree)

2. Exercises: (35’)
a/ Exercises 1: Present progressive tense
- Have ss remind of the present progressive tense
( Form: S + am/ is/ are + V- ing
- Ask ss to do the exercise in pairs.
- Ask ss to give feedback
is doing , is writing , is reading , is cooking , are playing , is kicking , is running.
b/ Exercises 2: This/ these; that/ those
- Have ss remind of the uses of demonstratives:
This / These ( near persons or things.
That / Those ( far persons or things
This / That used with singular nouns
These / Those used with plural nouns
- Ask ss to do the exercise.
- Call some students to check.
a. This room is very dirty.
b. Put this bag away.
That isn’t my bag, Mom. This is my bag.
c. Put those dirty socks in the washing basket.
No, those socks on the bed.
d. Throw away those comics.
But I like these comics, Mom.
c. Exercises 3: Time
- Have look at the clock and answer the question: What time is it?
