Procedure:
A/ Presentation
Explain the uses & the differences between although & in spite of
- Review some points of adverbial clauses of concession
* Although/ Even though/ In spite of/ Despite
* Form: Although/Even though + clause
In spite of/ Despite + noun/ noun phrase/ gerund phrase
In spite of shows the confession
*Note: We can use in spite of the fact that / despite the fact that instead although
- Sometime we use though in stead of although
- Even though is a strong form of although
- After in spite of / despite we use noun, pronoun (this, that, what…) or ing
Ex: Although it rained a lot, we enjoyed our vacation.
Ex: Despite what I said yesterday, I still love you
Ex: She felt sick, but in spite of this, she went to work
Ex: I didn’t get the job in spite of the fact that/ despite the fact that I was extremely qualified
Ex: Because of thick fog, the train was late.
Ex: I went to school on time in spite of the heavy rain.

News media are the means or methods by which people learn what is happening in the city, in the country & in the world. The news media can be classified into general categories: the categories of print media & electric media. Print media use the written material to communicate news to readers. Electronic media use air waves to send news into homes, offices & public places. Print media are usually divided into magazines & newspaper. Most newspaper print news daily. For example, the newspaper “ The New York Time” is published everyday of the year. Most news magazines are published weekly, for instance. Newsweek & Time magazines are published once a week. The electronic media are generally divided into radio & television. Radio news is news that you listen to. In the United States, many radio stations broadcast five minutes of news every hour. T.V news is news that you not only listen to but also watch. In Canada & the Untied States, for example, many people watch an hour of News on T.V at 6 o’clock in the evening. In the future new categories of news media will develop. Even today computers are beginning to influence the transmission & reception
