REPORTED SPEECH
WH- QUESTION
EXAMPLE:
a. He said, “where are going, Tom?”
He asked Tom where he was going.
b . He said, “why are you learning English , Tom?”
He asked Tom why he was learning english .
2. THE WAY TO CHANGE:

Các quy tắc đổi thỡ và các trường hợp khác vẫn như dạng câu lời nói.

b. Dùng động từ "asked" hoặc "wanted to know" ở mệnh đề tường thuật.
c. "Wh - word" sau động từ trong mệnh đề tường thuât.

d. Sau Wh - word là một câu ở dạng sác định, không thành lập câu hỏi.

e. Dổi dấu chấm hỏi "?" trong câu trực tiếp sang dấu chấm " . " trong câu gián tiếp.

CHANGE INTO REPORTED SPEECH
1. "Where is my umbrella?" she asked.
→ She asked
2. "How are you?" Martin asked us.
→ Martin asked us
3. He asked, “ What Do I have to do?"
→ He asked
4. "Where have you been?" the mother asked her daughter.
→ The mother asked her daughter
5. "Which dress do you like best?" she asked her boyfriend.
→ She asked her boyfriend
6. "What are they doing?" she asked.
→ She wanted to know
7. The teacher asked, "Who speaks English?"
→ The teacher wanted to know
8. "How do you know that?" she asked me.
→ She asked me
CHANGE INTO DIRECTSPEECH
1. He asked me what she had said the day before.
2. My mother asked me where I was going.
3. she asked what time it was then.
4. John asked Mary where she would go.
5. He asked me Who had just cleaned the floor
6. He asked me How many times I had seen that movie.
