Situation 1: What will happen to Lan?
“Every day I eat two loaves of bread and a glass of milk for breakfast. I have meat, chicken and a little rice for lunch. In the evening, I often have potato, beef and pork. I don’t like fruit and vegetable”
Lan will get fat.
Lan is getting fatter and fatter.
The more she eats, the fatter she will become
Grammar: Double Comparison.
Situation 2: How is the price of traveling?
‘Two years ago., I went to Hanoi by plane. I spent 1,500,000 VND for the return ticket. Now, everything is different. It takes me nearly 2,500,000 VND to fly there”
The price of traveling is becoming more and more expensive

I. Structure 1:
S + V…..Comparative + and + Comparative
Short adjectives: harder and harder, bigger and bigger, better and better……
Long adjectives: more and more difficult, more and more expensive..
Use: We use this structure to say that something is increasing all the time.
Examples:
Prices go up and up. Everything gets more and more expensive.
Your English is improving. It’s getting better and better.
Exercise 1: Match a half-sentence from box A with a suitable half-sentence from box B
Practice: Exercise 2 (Page 146)
His visit to New York seemed to get ………………. because he was very busy at work.
Eating and traveling in this city is getting……………………………..
As the day went on, the weather got …… ………………

2.Long Adjective:

Use: We use this pattern to say that a change in one thing goes with a change in another.
Examples:
The earlier we leave, the sooner we will arrive.
The younger you are, the easier it is to learn.
The more expensive the hotel is, the more reliable the service is.
Exercise 3 Complete each of the following sentences, using the structure:

Choose a suitable half sentence on the right.
